Friday Favorites

Happy Friday y’all! I don’t know about you but this has felt like the longest week ever, so I’m very much looking forward to some down time this weekend. We don’t have anything big planned but excited to spend this beautiful fall weekend outside.

We have had a pretty busy month – we started the month in Colorado and then spent the following weekend in North Carolina – so it has been very on the go and September isn’t even over yet! Even so, this is the last Friday so I’m here to share what I’m loving this month!

Grateful + Thankful Mug: I have been a big fan of Chalkfuloflove mugs for a while and had the hardest time choosing which mug I wanted from the fall launch this year. I ultimately chose this Grateful + Thankful mug and am obsessed! I even made a fun Instagram reel of unboxing it that you can see here. Last Saturday morning, I brewed a cup of fall blend coffee in this mug, poured a splash of pumpkin spice almond milk creamer and cozied up on the couch and cannot wait to repeat this tomorrow morning!

Pear + Gorgonzola Pizza: Jody was in Asheville for a work training, so tagged along for a long weekend getaway. He was working most of the time we were there, but I was able to spend lunch with him! We stayed in Biltmore Park and met for lunch at Brixx Wood Fire Pizza, where we discovered this Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza. It has an olive oil base (my favorite!), with sliced pears, mozzarella, gorgonzola, walnuts & caramelized onions piled on top. It was a little sweet, a little salty and a lot delicious. I am planning to recreate it at home during one of our Friday pizza nights!

Bonfire Season: Jody and I had our first fire of the season last weekend! It has been such a wet year and all of our wood was damp, so it was a bit of a challenge to get it lit. Once we did, though, we enjoyed it for the rest of the evening. Sitting next to the fire with a glass of wine is one the best ways to spend a fall evening!

Wild Honey Nectar Candle: I picked up this candle at Marshalls last month and I wish I found it sooner because it is the perfect end-of-summer candle. In additional to the obvious hints of honey, it also carries the scent of wildflowers. It is by Red Leaf Home if you’re interested in looking for it at your local store!

First Day of Fall: I will always be a summer baby, but gosh, do I love the fall! I wanted to reinstate the celebration dinners that I implemented during quarantine last year, and celebrating the first day of a new season seemed like the perfect way to start. For dinner I made Pulled Cider Chicken sliders with roasted butternut squash and Jody made me a Cider Maple Old Fashioned.

I did a spontaneous fall-themed “this or that” poll on Instagram this week and it was so fun to see everyone’s answers! Let me know these two things below: What are you most looking forward about fall and do you prefer chili or soup? The poll results were split, so we need a tie-breaker. 🙂
