With the official start of autumn just days away and the season is in the stores in full swing, I am finally ready to welcome the sweater weather. I am a summer girl by heart, however, I think fall may be my favorite season from a fashion standpoint. Sometimes as the season change, I find myself stumped on what to wear, especially after primarily wearing shorts and dresses for the past few months! I, by no means, consider myself a fashion blogger but I thought it would be fun to switch it up and share some of the items I have my eye on this fall, plus a few pieces that I’ve already picked up!

While you will rarely catch me in orange, rust is the color of the season along with a hint of burgundy and brown. Clothes that just look like fall give me all of the crisp air and crunchy leaves vibes. I picked up this dress (also seen here) to wear to school, as the mornings are cool but the afternoons are still heating up, which is why this skirt is on my wishlist. I also haven’t had a t-shirt dress in years, and I am very much a fan of layering one with either a flannel or cute jacket.
Speaking of, I am always looking for cute jackets or sweater to layer with my outfits this time of year since I am always cold! This sweater blazer has great reviews and would be a cozy way to dress up any outfit. Perhaps the highest item on my wishlist this fall is a shacket – a cross between a shirt and a jacket. Add this to list of trends I like that Jody hates ๐ (see my faux fur mules from last year!).
Of course, no fall wardrobe is complete without an array of sweaters! I bought this striped one last fall and I still love it! I also picked up a simple v-neck sweater by Lucky Brand at Marshalls earlier this week, which is such a great staple item. I’m already looking forward to styling it with faux-leather leggings or a pair of jeans and booties.
If you’ve been around here long enough, you know how much I love mules! My leopard print mules, similar to these, have been my go to shoe for the last two years, and these with the ruffle are just so darling that I may run to the store this afternoon to pick them up! If I’m not in mules, then you’ll find me in ankle booties pretty much until it is warm enough to wear sandals again.
It doesn’t get any more instagrammable than a hat among the leaves in the fall. I love my wide brim hat like this that I bought last year. Lastly, you can’t forget about adding jewelry. I’m currently obsessed with layered necklaces like this one!
I hope you find this post helpful as you transition to fall apparel, or just enjoyed virtually shopping with me! What are your fall pieces to wear this season?
