Spring is Here!

Happy first day of Spring, friends! This morning I woke up to blue skies, sunshine, and some very happy birds trying to make a nest on my front door wreath. The tree in front of our house is starting to bloom, the daffodils (and a single hyacinth) have sprouted up from the ground, and the world is filled with a bit more color. Spring is finally here!

I’m in full spring mode. I’m eagerly waiting to trade in my sweaters and bulky coat for sandals and sundresses. I pick up a new set of gardening gloves and I’m determined to develop a green thumb this year. I’ve been on the search for a new outdoor dining table for our patio for all of the al fresco dining we hope to do, and I’ve already moved a bottle of rosé to the fridge to chill for the perfect spring cheers.

As I mentioned in my post earlier this month, the spring season and the feeling of renewed hope seems to go hand-in-hand. The days get longer with each passing day, which I’ve realized makes a huge impact on my productivity and mental space. I’m looking forward to more travel, coffee on the porch, more walks, and hopefully, bike rides around town, drives with my sunroof open or top-down in Jody’s convertible, hues of pastels, and of course, the warmer temperatures.

To celebrate the first weekend of spring, Jody and I are planning to spend a lot of it outdoors! After a walk, we heading to a local winery this afternoon for a tasting flight and then will end our day by grilling on the patio. Tomorrow, we are headed to our first brunch date (in over a year!!) and praise the Lord, it seems like the weather will allow us to dine al fresco. And because I’m in a spring shopping mood, I’m hoping to end with a new spring-inspired outfit or two before this weekend is said and done.

Even if the weather hasn’t quite gotten the message about Spring’s arrival where you are, picking up a bouquet of fresh blooms or adding some simple spring decor can still help you welcome this wonderful season. And if you’re anything like me, the best way to celebrate may be to run to the pharmacy and pick up allergy medicine. 🙂

What is your favorite parts of spring? How do you choose to celebrate? I’d love to hear – share your thought with me in the comments below!
