March Goals

Other than sharing our nursery inspiration last week, I feel like it has been a while since I last posted on here! The past few weeks have been a complete whirlwind and February absolutely flew by – I know it is already a short month, but it honestly seemed like time was set on fast forward!

We started the month off on a high note, with our 20 week anatomy scan kit and ultrasound, which was the first time this entire pregnancy I could actually breathe during the appointment versus being paralyzed in fear through some earlier dramatic moments. Baby is healthy and growing like a weed and I can’t wait to get one more glimpse of him or her at my appointment later today!

My father-in-law and my sister’s birthday are a week apart, so Jody and I enjoy spending two weekends away celebrating them! We checked off some fun things from our goals/to-do list, including booking our babymoon to Arizona at the end of March. We celebrated Valentine’s Day at one of our favorite local restaurants, where I was treated with a yummy mocktail and probably the best truffle fries I’ve ever tasted.

I would be remiss though, if I didn’t mention that everyday wasn’t filled with joy and celebration. February was a bit of a rough month for me work wise, probably stemming off of a busy January. Trying to find balance between all of the things to be done in my personal life combined with my multiple responsibilities at work, some days feel like more than I can handle. I try to keep my focus on the sweet, happy moments because I truly want to enjoy this season, but I have failed at that in the past few weeks more than I’d like to admit.

I share this because the internet has this funny way of covering all of us with rose-colored glasses, which can be isolating when our feelings don’t reflect the perceived rosy image. My heart is bursting with joy for all of the excitement, projects and sweet moments ahead, but I don’t want it to be lost (on me or you, my dear internet friends) that every moment is perfect. I imagine there are a lot more ebbs and flows in this season ahead, and if you are struggling with similar emotions, just know I am cheering you on.
