Summer Fun List

As I mentioned in my previous post, summer already seems like it has flown by and it has really just begun! We are only going on week two of summertime in the Cox household since returning from our Italian getaway last Monday and it’s already the second week in July! In fact, I saw that the school supplies displays have started to pop up in our local store (that’s just cruel, y’all). With Jody and I just returning from one 10-day vacation, and heading off for another in just a few weeks, I don’t want to feel like I’ve missed getting to do all of those typical things we envision when we dream about summer — popsicles on long, hot days, floating in a pool, lounging on the beach, and picking crabs, especially in this corner of the world!

Don’t get me wrong — I love the fact that we get to travel so much this summer. These are both two dream vacations of our and we are just tickled pink that they both are happening in the same summer! But considering that we will be collectively gone for almost a month of the summer, we want to be sure to make the most of all of the summer days we have at home. Because of this, Jody and I decided to make a summer fun list of things to do this summer for the times we don’t have anything to do. I don’t know that we will make it through this list, but hope to.

  • Go hiking at the beach or near a waterfall
  • Share a picnic and a refreshing drink
  • Bike at the beach
  • Have a bonfire and roast s’mores
  • Watch the sunrise over a picnic breakfast or watch the sunset over a picnic dinner!
  • Take the convertible to a drive-in movie theater
  • Go swimming
  • Go to an amusement park
  • Watch fireworks
  • Find a rooftop happy hour
  • Compete in a mini-golf game (Loser buys ice cream!)
  • Go to a baseball game
  • Find a park with live music
  • Visit the zoo
  • Go out for ice cream
  • Have a game night — either board, card or video!

It is bound to be an awesome summer, not matter how many of these activities we can get through. I’m honestly the most excited about the opportunity to spend so much time with Jody this summer. What do you have on your list for summer? I’d love to hear more idea. Share them in the comments below! ๐Ÿ™‚
