I don’t know if it is the rainy and cold weather outside, the snow that was on my car last night, or the fact I have a few new spring tops just staring me down in my closet, but I’m so ready for spring. We got teased a week or two ago with warm weather (70 degrees in February — what?!) and now I’m just ready for it to officially begin.
I’ve always been a fan of fashion, but I’ve never been very confident in my style or brave enough to try different trends. I wouldn’t say that I have completely gotten over that, but I have had some fun in the past year exploring some outfits a little out of my comfort zone. I’m still in the process of updating my closet with some fresh new finds, so I thought I’d share some of my inspiration that combines a mix of my favorite styles with some trends I’m currently loving.
Images from top left to right: Pink lace top, Floral top, Scallop skirt, Floral shift, Striped skirt, Blue bell sleeve top, Crochet lace skirt, Blue Gingham Blouse, Peplum top and sweater
Color Palette: pink, baby blue, and white
Patterns: gingham, stripes, lace (is lace a pattern?) and a hint of floral
Styles: peplum tops, bell sleeves, ripped jeans, off the shoulder
It is honestly so funny that my color palette is what it is because before I started looking for inspiration, I figured it would be all pastels. Not that I’m disappointed; after all, pink is my favorite color! I’ve always been a stripes kind of girl, and I just love how you can wear gingham practically year-round. Both make a statement, but subtly because too much of a statement is far from my comfort zone. The trend that I’m surprised I’m loving are ripped jeans, mostly because it makes me questions if I’m 15 again but I feel like one pair of ripped jeans in your closet can’t be a bad thing. 🙂
