I promised I’d be better about posting on here this year, and so far, I have not met my own expectations. But I do have a good excuse – I am thrilled to share with y’all that we are expecting Baby #2 this fall!

I always wanted my children to be close in age but was a bit skeptical that would actually happen after it took us a while to get pregnant with Emerson. But lo and behold, we were equally surprised and excited that it happened so quickly this time around. Emerson and Baby will be a little over two years apart, which we think will be a great (albeit, crazy!) age difference.
Here is an update about what has been going on so far:
When are you due?
I am due October 10th! I have always thought October would be the best month to give birth because we will be transitioning into sweater and leggings weather, the weather is still nice and not too cold, and we will be at the holidays right around the time we’ll be coming out of the newborn haze. Let’s see if this theory holds true!
How are you feeling?
I’m feeling a lot better now at 17 weeks than I was. Nausea and exhaustion hit me a lot earlier this time around, but I’m grateful that I was never sick. But between not feeling great and caring for a toddler, I was pretty much out of commission for the end of February and all of March.
How did you tell Jody?
I had this sneaking suspicion I was pregnant before I took a test, so I ordered this sweatshirt for Emerson to wear when he got home from work. I tried to record it but managed to crop her and I out of the frame – which was okay because Emerson had a MELTDOWN at the same time he walked in and saw the shirt ha!
Is Emerson excited to be a big sister?
She’s still a little young to know what’s going on but we have taught her how to say “baby”. We do ask her if she wants a little brother or a little sister and her usual response is shaking her head no. We’re working on it though!
Do you know the gender or will you find out?
We currently do not know Baby’s gender, but we are planning to find out! We chose to wait until delivery with Emerson, which was the sweetest surprise, but we thought we’d change it up this time around and try something different! We opted out of finding the gender on any early genetic testing so we should find out following the anatomy scan in early June.
I’m hoping to share more about our pregnancy again, including trimester recaps (1st trimester hopefully coming soon!). Thank you for letting me share our news with y’all!
Could I be happier? I don’t think so!❤️
