Happy 2019 y’all! I’ve been taking a bit of a break from blogging over the past month, but it feels so good to be back! I can’t wait to share what I’ve been up to over the past few weeks in the coming posts.
Traveling is something that has always been so important to me and I hope to be able to continue to see the world as much as I can. Usually this time of the year, I find myself dreaming of other cities and adventure. I’m not sure if this is due to the cold and not fantastic weather in the mid-Atlantic in January, or if I can contribute to studying abroad during January when I was in college. Nonetheless, my longing to travel never quite dies.
In addition to setting goals at the beginning of each year, Jody and I have started to dream up travel goals for that year as well. Since today is “National Plan Your Vacation Day”, I thought it would be fun to share some travels Jody and I are brainstorming this year. I’m not sure if these all will happen, but cultivating a list of places we’d like to visit will help us plan a few weekend getaways!
2019 Travel Goals:
- Alaska
- Seattle, Washington
- Victoria, British Columbia
- Camping trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
- Lancaster, Pennsylvania
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Portland, Maine
- Erie, Pennsylvania
- Austin + Waco, Texas
- Charlottesville, Virginia
- Lexington, Kentucky
- Raleigh, North Carolina
- Savannah, Georgia
- Denver, Colorado
- New York, New York
- Nashville, Tennessee
We don’t know that all of these trips will happen (as of right now, only one is planned and booked!), but it does give us a good starting point when considering our weekend plans and our budget as we head through this year. We typically like to go on a bigger, weeklong trip in summer, and then plan for a long weekend away around New Years. In between that, we find weekends to get away for a night or two throughout the year.
After our trips to Italy and Peru last year, I am a bit sad that our travels won’t be taking us off the continent this year, but I’m super excited to see how many of these places we are able to visit this year, especially some of the ones that we haven’t been to before. And I hope we can grow this list as well — if you have any recommendations of your favorite places to travel, let me know in the comments below!
If you ever decide to visit the travel destination of Cleveland, Ohio. You have your own suite available for free! What’s in and around Cleveland? The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, 4 major spirts teams, lots of wineries, Put in Bay, Cedar Point, The Christmas Story House and other nooks a crannies.
